St. Kassian and Armentarola
The western-most community in Alta Badia is St. Kassian at the banks of the Gran Ega River (“the great river“), also called Gader, which crosses the Alta Badia valley. St. Kassian is located in a basin between the La Varella and Conturines mountains and Piz Sorega and Piz La Villa, which separate St. Kassian from the communities of Corvara and Colfsco.
Armentarola is located deep inside the valley at the foot of Valparola Mountain. This word originates in the “Armentara” region and means remote, sunny place with wide meadows at the edge of forests where the cattle graze. This is where you find our hotel.
